Built to be the summer residence of the omonimous family in the seventeenth century, was transformed by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, nephew of the Pope Paul the fifth, into his own private art collection. Houses the Madonna of the Palafrenieri by Caravaggio, Apollo and Daphne by Bernini, the Entombment by Raphael, Sacred and Profane Love by Titian, the Danae by Correggio, Pauline Bonaparte by Canova, Portrait of man by Antonello da Messina just to mention few of the many masterpieces of this Museum.
